Use FixVis in ChatGPT

Connect ChatGPT to your FixVis issues. Ask what to fix first, get each issue explained for your business, move tickets and ask FixVis to verify the live page — plus check AI visibility across markets, plan and draft content from gaps, and review what delivered fixes achieved — from a chat.

MCP is available on Starter and above. On the Free plan you can see what it does, but you can't connect a client — see plans.

Last checked: September 2026 — ChatGPT's menus change often.

What it does

FixVis runs an MCP server at https://api.fixvis.ai/mcp. Once ChatGPT is connected, it can:

It covers technical and on-page issues, markets and AI visibility, content and outcomes.

Before you start

Turn on Developer mode

  1. In ChatGPT, open Settings → Apps & Connectors (it may be labelled Connectors).
  2. Open Advanced and switch Developer mode on.

ChatGPT updates its menus often, so the names may be slightly different from what you see here.

Add FixVis

Create a new connector (or app) with these settings:

Name
FixVis
MCP server URL
https://api.fixvis.ai/mcp
Authentication
OAuth

Save it. ChatGPT sends you to FixVis to sign in. The consent screen says “ChatGPT (chatgpt.com) will act as you on the projects you choose.” Then:

  1. Choose the organisation.
  2. Tick the projects ChatGPT may use.
  3. Pick Read your FixVis data or Read and update (move and verify issues, create content tasks; scans and content generation spend credits, always after you confirm).
  4. Click Approve.

Use it

In a chat, enable the FixVis connector for that conversation (from the Developer mode tools). Then ask, replacing <your-site> with your domain:

List my FixVis projects

What technical issues are open on <your-site>, worst first?

Explain the top issue for my business

Move it to Doing

What should we write next for Germany?

Create a task for the top gap and draft it

How did last month's fixes do?

Run a scan of all markets

ChatGPT asks you to confirm actions that change something (moving an issue, running a verification). A scan or content generation shows its cost and asks you to confirm before it spends any credits — see Credits and the confirm step. Reading doesn't need confirmation.

The tools

Read tools work on every connection. Write tools need a connection approved with Read and update; starting a scan or generating content also spends credits and always asks you to confirm first.

ToolAccessWhat it does
list_projectsReadThe projects in this connection, with the latest audit and open technical / on-page counts.
list_issuesReadA worst-first list of issues for a project, filterable by area, severity and status.
get_issueReadEverything needed to understand one issue: why it matters, the solution, the evidence, affected URLs and how it will be re-checked.
explainReadA plain-language explanation of an issue or a term (such as JSON-LD) and why it matters for your business.
move_issueWrite · freeMoves an issue to To Do, Doing or Done on your board and returns its new status.
verify_fixWrite · freeRe-checks the live page and returns the outcome with its evidence (see Verification).
list_marketsReadThe markets (country + language) this project is tracked in, which is primary, and each one's latest scan.
get_market_visibilityReadShare of Discovery, citation share, issues, content gaps and which tracked prompts the brand wins or loses — one market, default primary.
get_markets_rollupReadEvery market side by side: Share of Discovery, citation share, issues, content gaps and a portfolio score.
list_competitorsReadThe competitors FixVis tracks for this project in one market and the latest standing against the brand.
list_content_gapsReadContent opportunities for one market, ranked by opportunity score.
get_content_gapReadOne opportunity in full: keywords, AI prompts, competitor URLs to beat, and the brief a content task would carry.
get_contentReadA generated brief or draft, or its status while still being written.
create_content_taskWrite · freePuts a content piece on the board, from a gap opportunity or as a manual topic.
set_published_urlWrite · freeRecords the live URL a content task's piece was published at.
get_outcomesReadWhat delivered fixes and content achieved over a period: shipped and verified fixes, indexing, citations, clicks and referral visits.
list_delivered_fixesReadThe fixes and content delivered in a period with their outcome, attribution and confidence.
get_fix_outcomeReadOne delivered fix's full before/after readings and why it's still awaiting if it is.
run_market_scanWrite · creditsStarts a new scan for one market or all of them. Preview shows the cost; confirm to submit.
generate_contentWrite · creditsWrites a brief or full draft for a content task. Preview shows the cost; confirm to submit.

Credits and the confirm step

Starting a scan or generating content spends credits. ChatGPT previews the cost, your current balance and exactly what would run first, and asks you to confirm — nothing is spent or queued until you agree.

What works best where

ChatGPT is great for understanding and prioritising your issues. To change code in your repo, a coding agent is the better tool — see Connect Claude Code or Codex to FixVis.

Verification

Verification checks the public URL, so deploy the fix first. The outcome is one of:

verified
The fix is live. The card moves to Done.
failed_verification
The issue is still failing on the live page.
partial
The page improved, but the check doesn't fully pass yet.
blocked
The check couldn't run, for example because the page wasn't reachable.
not_verifiable
This issue can't be re-checked automatically. Mark it done on the board yourself.

Verification is free.

Troubleshooting

“invalid redirect_uri”
The connector's MCP server URL must be exactly https://api.fixvis.ai/mcp. Delete the connector and create it again.
The connector doesn't appear in a chat
Check that Developer mode is on, and enable the FixVis connector for that conversation.
Asked to sign in again
Reconnect the FixVis connector and approve it again.
Actions are greyed out
Your ChatGPT plan may allow read-only tools only. Check that the connection was approved with Read and update, too.
“out_of_scope”
That issue type isn't available through MCP yet. Open it in the FixVis app.
“confirm_invalid”
The confirm step's token was wrong, expired (10 minutes) or already used for a different call. Ask again — it previews, then confirms.
“scan_in_progress”
One of the markets already has a scan running from the last few hours. Wait for it to finish.
“content_locked”
The content task is no longer in To Do (it's In Progress or Done). Move it back, or use the app.
“rate_limited”
More than 10 confirmed scans or content generations ran on this connection in the last hour. Wait, or finish the rest from the FixVis app.
“plan_required”
MCP is available on Starter and above. A Free workspace can't connect, and a workspace that moves back to Free stops answering until it upgrades — see plans.

FAQ

What does it cost?
MCP is included on Starter and above at no extra cost. Scans and content use credits, always after you confirm. Reading issues, markets and outcomes, and verification, are free. Developer mode itself depends on your ChatGPT plan.
What data leaves FixVis?
The issue, market, content and outcome details you ask for go to ChatGPT (OpenAI). Nothing else.
Which ChatGPT plans can use it?
Any plan where ChatGPT offers Developer mode for custom MCP apps. Which plans those are, and whether write actions are allowed, is up to OpenAI and changes over time — see ChatGPT's help.
Does a write-access connection start spending credits automatically?
No. A scan or content generation always previews first and asks you to confirm before anything is spent.
